This staple in most vegetarian/vegan diets is so cheap and easy to make yourself you will never want to buy it premade again. Plus it’s a whole meal when paired with veggies and a pita. The best part is seasoning it various ways or mixing in things like avocado! Use this basic recipe and modify as needed.

1 can chickpeas, with about 1/2 the liquid in the can
1 large lemon, juiced
3-5 cloves garlic depending on taste
2-3 tablespoons tahini
Splash of olive oil

Blend everything: add garlic first until well minced then add other ingredients and blend.

Top with your favorite seasoning such as sumac, coriander, sesame seeds and/or cilantro!
